Benjamin Silverberg, MD MSc FAAFP FCUCM, is a Family Medicine Physician and Associate Professor at West Virginia University Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. He comes from a line of teachers and enjoys experiential learning as well. His bi-coastal educational history includes undergraduate study of Chemistry and Dramatic Arts at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduate work in Global Health at Duke University, medical training from the University of Connecticut, residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia, and fellowship training in Community Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. He joined the medical faculty at West Virginia University in 2016, where he holds a dual appointment in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine, and works in Student Health, Travel Medicine, and Urgent Care. In 2018, he also took on the role of Medical Director for the new Physician Assistant training program at WVU, where he leads an interdisciplinary course on community health. Ben is well-travelled, having circled the globe to participate in medical missions, teach, study, or simply explore. He is grateful for his time abroad as well as in the classroom and exam room. His research interests include health education and minority populations. In his free time, Ben enjoys photography, dining out, social dance, listening to music, and watching Bollywood films with his husband, two cats, and infant twins.
